Sr. Superintendent

DOUG WALL CONSTRUCTION Located in the heart of Coachella Valley in Bermuda Dunes, CA. Our office is positioned at the center of our projects with clients like Eisenhower Hospital, City of Palm Springs, Weintraub Real Estate, etc. We are a state-of-the-art General Contractor that leads in efficiencies, LEED and quality performance since 1993.

We are seeking a driven Sr. Superintendent to support our office. The Sr. Superintendent will work on innovative and unique $30 Million plus projects and be a critical part of the project team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day field operations of ground up construction projects.
  • Must have a proven record of managing complex projects.
  • Manage subcontractors effectively/efficiently.
  • Manage in-house employees – assistant superintendents, laborers
  • Interaction with clients, architects, engineers.
  • Daily interaction with Project Managers, Architects, Project Engineers, Clients and/or Client Representatives.
  • Management of schedule, including weekly preparation of 2-week look ahead.
  • Coordination between trades.
  • Dimension/layout verification.
  • Verification of compliance with submittals.
  • Daily focus on job site safety.
  • Maintenance of daily log.
  • Maintain job site security/perimeter.
  • Be capable of working in a team or autonomously as size of future projects may dictate.
  • Be capable of managing/coordinating multiple quick-turn projects simultaneously.
  • Manage close out process and warranty responses with project manager.
  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
  • Monitor costs, including labor time and material.
  • Attend and participate in weekly meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; junior college or construction education desired
  • 8years minimum experience as Lead Superintendent in ground up, high-end commercial general contracting
  • Must be able to efficiently multi-task
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work with tools to perform various phases of construction work is a plus
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications
  • Experience managing subcontractors
  • Willingness to travel upon request

      We are seeking a driven Accounting Assistantto support our office. This position will provide support for day-to-day functions of a quickly growing executive headquarters. The Accounting Assistant serves a vital function in the growth of our organization. The candidate is responsible for accurately working with AP/AR and general ledger activities associated with the Sr Accountant and requires a fine attention to detail. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, especially when facing deadlines.

      Responsibilities:

      • Assist Accountants and other financial professionals with creating and editing financial documents
      • Organize the bookkeeping processes of the company
      • Evaluate financial budgets and track expenses
      • Draft and report financial presentations
      • Reconcile financial books including incoming and outgoing funds

      Qualifications

      • 3+ yrs. Working with Sage or Timberline accounting software.

        Project Manager

        We are seeking a driven Project Manager to support our office. The Project Manager will work on innovative and unique $30 Million plus projects and lead the project team to successful completion.

        Responsibilities:

        • Take an active role in and guide jobs and job teams in each phase including pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction services.
        • Take a big picture view of strategy, risk assessment, and profitability and continuously communicate this view throughout the life of the project.
        • Identify and focus on critical issues related to constructability including associated costs and logistical issues.
        • Lead and manage multiple and/or larger, more complex projects with limited PX involvement.
        • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all DWC financial processes, controls, and reports, i.e., internal budgets, costs to complete, billings, collections, subcontractor payments, change order preparation and resolution, contracts, etc.
        • Ensure that jobs are completed according to schedule and meet profit goals.
        • Oversee the change order process to ensure the extras presented to the owner get approved and are fair.
        • Establish annual performance goals for each direct report.
        • Develop, nurture and maintain ongoing client, architect, subcontractor and industry (Owners, CM’s, etc) relationships at the appropriate level reinforcing DWC’s commitment to continuously addressing their needs and interests.
        • Work collaboratively with outside parties (I.e. the design team, etc.) to accomplish client goals.
        • Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors instilling this philosophy in project teams at all times.

        Qualifications

        • 10+ years of experience in construction management with a commercial general contracting company.
        • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
        • Excellent MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills required. Procore, MS Project, and Timberline/Sage experience a plus.
        • Experience managing large OSHPD or Hotel Ground up projects a plus.
        • Management and Leadership experience, including experience mentoring project managers and assistant project managers.
        • Extensive experience maintaining project budgets and schedules.
        • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

          We are seeking a driven Sr. Estimator to support our office. This position will provide support for day-to-day functions of a quickly growing executive headquarters. A Project Estimator for the Commercial Division, serves a vital function in the growth of our organization. The Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the total costs associated with a project and requires a fine attention to detail. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, especially when facing bid deadlines.

          Responsibilities:

          • Prepare detailed conceptual budgets and estimating from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design and design development documents
          • Perform detailed take-offs of all trades. Initiate and manage entire bid process (CM and GC) inclusive of preparation of detailed bid packages and assure accurate and proper submissions/proposals by all subcontractors
          • Accurately level all subcontractor bids
          • Maintain vendor relationships
          • Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients and subcontractors
          • Interfacing with field team by communicating deliverable and procurement schedules
          • Responsible for Leveling / Buyout / Procurement
          • Prepare Scopes
          • Prepare and manage Schedule. High level aptitude to get buy in from clients and subs
          • Shop Drawing Review, strong knowledge of the details.

          Qualifications

          • 5+ yrs. Commercial / Interiors Specific; 10+ yrs. industry experience
          • Compile complete estimate and bid package with breakdown by trade and CSI
          • Compile CM/GMP bid packages
          • Procurement and Scheduling Experience
          • Experience with Client facing and presentation
          • 5 years minimum experience in budgeting/estimating large commercial OSHPD or Hotel projects
          • Must be able to efficiently multi-task
          • Excellent time management and organizational skills
